She is the lady who solemnly believes you should not go through a day without having a dessert… so we had to know more about her!

Guest Chef Lorraine Meaney has been a pastry chef for the past 16 years. “I spent time in the pastry kitchen during my training and it was where I felt most comfortable and confident. The discipline, formulas and techniques suited my personality and I understood how to work with the ingredients,” she says.

Lorraine admits she was very flattered to have been on the show. “I watched the entire pressure test and the tension was the same as was felt on TV. I couldn`t breathe through some moments.” She admired the determination from the contestants who had to make her Gateau in the Pressure Test.

And yes, she really does eat something sweet everyday! “I have chocolate everyday, just something small. It’s good for my soul or so I tell myself. We taste quite a bit so you can call it a wonderful occupational hazard.” Lucky lady! If only all our occupational hazards were that sweet…
